A WELL EARNED BREAK!
Denis Prince has seen a lot with
the Gough Group but at 74 years
of age he has finally decided
its time to take a break. Denis
started with his Hyster career in
the 70s, spending more than 20
years with the company.
After a short break he decided the pull of the yellow
trucks was too strong and rejoined the team. Richard
Grooms, GMH Christchurch Branch manager, knows
Denis will leave a big gap in the team. “You don’t
replace people of Denis’ experience easily. But he
has been such a great member of our crew and the
knowledge he’s passed on is invaluable to the rest
of the team.” As a past chairman of the Social Club,
Denis took his responsibilities very seriously and was
known to accompany the “young bucks” into town to
make sure they made it home in one piece.
Denis will finally get some time to enjoy some
caravanning in Central Otago where his son and
daughter now live.
Cat K-Series
Shows Off at QUARRYNZ
Gough Cat attended the annual
2015 QuarryNZ conference
in Hamilton recently. Gough‘s
was a Platinum Sponsor at
the conference, providing the
company with naming rights
for the always popular Gough
Welcome Dinner on the opening
night. The venue this year was
the modern Claudelands Arena
in central Hamilton.
With a theme this year of “Forging The Path to the Future”,
the conference provided the prime opportunity to launch the
new Cat K-Series medium wheel loader range to the market,
and to back this up an impressive Cat 980K was an impressive
highlight at the Gough dinner alongside a 730C articulated
truck and various Cat related visuals.
Former All Black Ian “Kamo” Jones was our after dinner
speaker and he entertained everyone with rugby anecdotes
from his playing days and insightful thoughts on the upcoming
Rugby World Cup.
The Gough trade display was a busy place to greet both old
and new customer faces, while many delegates took the
opportunity to view the impressive collection of Cat units that
featured at our outside display area.
As well as the 980K and 730C, a Cat 336D2L excavator and a
modern Cat ground engaging tool display were also featured.
The G.E.T display featured Cat corner guard, top cover, and
performance series guard components which are an integral
working part in excavators and wheel loaders excavating
materials economically and fuel efficiently in a quarry operation.
